Wii Fat

I've been doing Wii Fit lately. It has its plusses and minuses. First of all, the exercises and games are done pretty well.

The graphics aren't anything special, roughly the same as Wii Sports. There's no support for a "playlist" of activities to do in succession, which would have been very nice. Since it's a Wii game, it's safe to say that we're not going to get a patch over the internet for it.

As a philosophical point, I don't like the emphasis on weight. Someone can be a reasonable weight and be unhealthy. Heart health and body strength are both things that need to be maintained to be healthy, but Wii Fit can't be bothered. The only thing that it tracks is your weight. I'd love to see an option that lets you select a body region you want to work on and creates a regimen to follow every day.

Wii Time Is Me Time

Have you heard? The Wii has finally reached its saturation point. You can go to a store today and get one. Or two. Or three. They're all over, and they're not getting picked up as soon as they arrive in stores.

I was thinking about getting Mario Galaxy, but it still costs $50, or $45 used. That's ridiculous. I'm going to check the internet now to see how it looks there.

Twilight Princess

Yahtzee likes to hate on Nintendo's repeating of games, but I think that Twilight Princess is awesome. The crazy top that you get to ride around is totally awesome. I just finished the dungeon that you get the top in, and I have a feeling I'm not going to have much use for it any more. It's too bad really, that top all by itself justifies the game.

Smash Bros Missing Character

There's one character that's missing in Smash Bros. Brawl: Me. That is to say, Mii. There wouldn't be any abilities, I guess, but they don't have to be balanced.

I think people would be happy to play as themselves, even if the character wasn't as good.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to rock the house. It's the first real Wii game to have online multiplay. So far, the blog/website has revealed 24 characters, 12 new, 12 returning. The new characters includes Olimar from Pikmin, of all things. I did a little brainstorming, and the only notable Nintendo characters they haven't included are Mike Tyson (remember? Mike Tyson's Punch-Out?) and Banjo-Kazooie.

Anyway, the game looks awesome.

No Wii for Mii

After no small amount of shopping, both local and internet, I have determined that there is no Wii to be found in my locale. Too bad. I guess I'll have to wait.

I did stop by my friend's house again to celebrate his Wii. While I was there, I snapped a picture of my Mii:

Just awesome.

Wii Jokes

The Wii is out. I was with a friend as he got it at midnight. We went to his place to play it, and I announce that it is good. Wii Sports is cool, and this Trauma Center game seems cool too.

I proudly point out that I have never composed a joke or a pun based on the Wii's name. I think there are few people who have an interest in the game community who can say that.

Wii Woe

I am looking forward to the Wii. I expect that Wii sports will be good. I do wonder why in the world they are not starting off with a ping-pong game. If there was ever a game that could be played with the Wii, it's ping-pong. You would need to have a LAN hookup to do it justice, but that's true of most games.

Wii

The Wii is coming out soon, and there's a little detail that gets under my skin.

From the 'Pedia:

According to the Nintendo Style Guide: A Guide to the Proper Usage of Some of Nintendo's Products:

Wii
It is simply Wii, not Nintendo Wii. It is pronounced "we", indicating its all-inclusive nature. The name works best at the beginning of declarative statements. For clarity, it is best to avoid passive verbs and prepositions.
Wii

So, it's not the "Nintendo Wii". South Park's usage hasn't improved matters.
